Tent Procedures
Tent hours are from 10-6 daily, Monday-Sunday. Arrive at the Farm daily by 8:45 am; in order to pick up strawberries, product, supplies (bags, quart/half gallon containers/handles), daily envelope, cash bags (each has $200, pen, additional card machine tape and a highlighter for insuring bills are not counterfeit) and card machine/battery pack with cord. This will allow you to be at your tent by 9:30 am to have it set up and ready to open by 10 am.
Each tent has two tables to place strawberries and product, see picture below for an example of how to set up for best display. All strawberries/product should be on the table, not left in your car. Wiping down the tables daily, picking up any trash and if it has rained making sure there is no water sitting on the tent (don’t want customers getting wet) should be completed when you arrive. Then put out all of the strawberries/product on the tables.
Each day a Daily Tent Sheet should be completed (see example below). As you start the day put how gallons of strawberries you have, how much of each product you have and how many gallons you convert to quarts/half gallons (you will need to track this throughout the day as you may need to make them up several times).
At the end of the day put how many gallons, quarts, etc. you have leftover on the Daily Tent sheet. Run the Daily Summary Report for the card machine (Reports, Daily Settlement, Manager Passcode 1234) put report in the Daily envelope. Calculate your pay of the day and pay yourself from the cash bag, put completed Daily Tent sheet around any additional cash over the $200 or checks you receive in the Daily envelope, put the $200 inside the cash bag. Load all leftover strawberries/product, etc. into your car and return to the Farm. A designated place will be available for leftover strawberries/produce and product. Place money bag in office, plug in card machine/battery pack on shelf provided. Put empty boxes in designated place.
Additional information: bring a chair, lunch, drinks, water or anything you will need for the day as you will be at the Tent all day. A locked portable toilet is provided (code 1234 or 123 depending on the lock).
