Field Trips

Educational School Field Trips

Learning is fun on a farm!

Cottle Strawberry Farm offers engaging and educational field trips during both spring and fall seasons, providing students with hands-on agricultural experiences. Students (and teachers!) can take a wagon ride around the farm — and explore the Cottle FunPark’s 45+ things to do (Hopkins location). Allow about 2 hours for the learning experience and play time.

Info for ALL field trips:
All teachers will get access to online teaching resources. In the spring, students can pick one clamshell container of strawberries. Bus drivers are always free. A Few Perks for Teachers & Students …

  • Each student attending a “Fall Festival & FunPark” or a “Spring Berries & FunPark” field trip in Hopkins will get a free admission ticket to visit the FunPark again during the 2026 season.
  • Everyone attending a Fall field trip may download/print a copy of the Pumpkin XPress News with puzzle, did-you-know-facts, word games and more.
  • We will be adding a Spring download this year called “Berries, Blooms & Bees” — all about strawberries and our little farm pollinator friends, the bees.

Fall: Classroom in the Corn

Hands-on learning experiences are always best when 1) students have been prepared for what they will encounter, and 2) have the opportunity to discuss what they learned after their visit to the farm. As part of our Fall school field trips, we are pleased to offer the ‘Classroom in the Corn‘ learning series to make your field trip more exciting, memorable and the best experience possible.

Teachers will receive a Teacher Resource Guide broken into separate grade ranges. Each group includes activity goals, National Curriculum Standards, preparation required, materials needed, worksheets, and step-by-step instructions.
